Two of us were up very early to take part in a brief 'action' outside the Hyatt Hotel at Liverpool Street this morning. You can read about what happened by following this link.It was part of London Citizens' (TELCO) Living Wage campaign, encouraging large companies and corporations to pay their workers a fair and liveable wage. Workers at the exclusive Andaz Hotel in Liverpool Street Station are paid the minimum wage of £5.52. Rooms start at over £300 and drinks in the bar cost more than the hardworking chambermaids make in an hour. The action today successfully encouraged the management to agree to meet with London Citizens representatives to discuss the living wage.
