On Sunday we celebrated the first Sunday of Advent (the part of the Christian year leading up to Christmas). The ladies decided they needed some time to relax before all the stresses and strains of Christmas so they moved into retreat mode with a morning of pre-Christmas pampering. This seemingly involved (I wasn't there but have seen the photos!) face masks, foot spas, lovely food and gentle relaxation. They gave some thought, too, to mentally and spiritually preparing for Christmas.

The men on the other hand joined the children and had lots of fun, too. We made together a nativity scene (which was actually pretty challenging!), played some games and agreed to make sure we didn't forget the story at the heart of Christmas. Oh and we finished off with a trip to McDonalds in Whitechapel! Nice.
