On Sunday evening the Bonfire Night party went with a sparkle! Around 50 of us gathered for toffee apples, bangers (sausages not fireworks!), potatoes and beans. It was great to welcome such a mixed bunch of people together - so many cultures and backgrounds represented. It's times like these when we observe that the reality of God's kingdom on earth is not some outlandish idea but quite possible when we put Him at the centre of community.
Following the food a number of us went to Victoria Park to watch the firework display laid on by the council - it was excellent. All round it was a great evening.
